OK, so I go 28 years of my life without meeting anybody famous and now I have to make up for lost time...
October 7, 1995 Yup, here are Ray and I hanging with our close, personal friends,Van Halen. ;-) Actually, this is us backstage at a Van Halen "Meet and Greet" in San Bernadino, California. I had won passes to get backstage in an online sweepstakes! Unfortunately, Ray and I didn't get any real chance to interact with the guys. A Van Halen Meet and Greet is a total "cattle call" and I think our time with the band lasted all of two minutes. That was just enough time to pose for a picture and for me to touch Sammy Hagar's hair as I was taking my hand off of his shoulder. LOL! Love that hair, Sammy! |

October 23, 1995 Thanks to a cyberpal, I had the good fortune to attend the Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada leg of Def Leppard's "Three Continents in One Day" promotional tour. It was an acoustic show in a small club--what a thrill it was to be up close at such a unique Lep event! And what a thrill it was to meet the band backstage after the show. |

Here it is two years later and my newest musical obsession comes in the form of my rediscovery of Night Ranger. I had been a big Night Ranger fan in the mid 80s, but was struck with "'Sister Christian' burn-out" and hadn't given them much thought since. Until June of 1997, that is, when Ray and I saw them live at Chicago's House of Blues. That show just blew me away and I was back to being a huge Night Ranger fan. I just had to see them live again, so Ray and I road tripped to see them play in Indianapolis, Indiana. That's where the above pictures were taken.
