• Regarding John's Thursday, September 16 show at the Potawatomi Casino in Milwaukee, WI:
  You cannot buy tickets, they are free.  However, getting them involves jumping through a few hoops.  Online JW fan Cyndi H reports that the only way you can get tickets for the show is to physically go to the Casino and become a "Fire Keepers Club" member.  They will not allow people to sign up over the phone or over the Internet.
  
  The Casino's website says this: Starting September 1st, come to Potawatomi, join our Fire Keepers Club and receive two free tickets to a great show of your choice and a chance to meet the artist.

August 16, 2004:

• John is currently touring the US!  Check out pollstar.com for tour dates and venues.
   

• NEW MUSIC FROM JOHN!  John will soon be re-releasing a portion of his 2001 Figure in a Landscape CD. The 2004 version will be called The Hard Way and will contain 4 new tracks.

December 7, 2003:

John will be performing at a fundraiser in Las Vegas, Nevada this Saturday, December 13.  From the press release:

 Sallie Mae Hosts Benefit Concert to Help Those in Need This Holiday Season 

Grammy Winner Jody Watley, John Waite, Bonafied and the Gin Blossoms to Appear at  'Shade Tree V' to Support Las Vegas Women's Shelter

WHAT:  Sallie Mae’s 300-person call-center in Summerlin, Nev. is hosting “Shade Tree V,” a benefit concert to raise money for The Shade Tree Women's Shelter, a local non-profit organization that provides services to more than 4,000 homeless women and children each month.

 WHO:  The concert will feature headliners, the Gin Blossoms; host, British rocker John Waite; and a performance from Grammy award winning singer Jody Watley. Las Vegas hip-hop artist Bonafied will also perform.

TICKETS:   The concert is open to the public. General admission tickets are $30 and reserved seats are $40. A limited number of $100 host tickets and $400 reserved host tables are available and include admission to the private after-show party with Waite, the Gin Blossoms and Watley at The House of Blues. All tickets can be purchased by contacting the House of Blues ticket office at 1-702-632-7600. Infinity Broadcasting is a media co-sponsor for the event and will conduct ticket promotions on Las Vegas radio stations Mix 94.1 and Lite 100.5.

 All ticket proceeds will go to The Shade Tree Women’s Shelter. In addition, The Sallie Mae Fund, a charitable organization sponsored by Sallie Mae, is contributing a dollar-for-dollar match of up to $30,000 of the proceeds from the event. Last year's concert raised more than $70,000 for the shelter.

November 7, 2003:

• OK, so my hubby was surfing thru the TV channels this evening at 7:45 p.m. and he yells to me that John Waite is on channel 20.  I only caught the last 12 minutes of it. (Why oh WHY don't we get notice about these things ahead of time?!) 
   
  Can you believe a half hour music show in this day and age totally devoted to JOHN WAITE?!  Well, there was one on Chicago TV tonight!   A public television show called MHZ Presents. It was filmed in June 2001 in Virginia.  (Long-haired John of the Journey/Peter Frampton tour.)  John being interviewed (the part I saw was him dissing MTV & telling how he does his own thing) and John talking about Figure in a Landscape and John and his band playing live (in the studio).  I got to see all of "Missing You" and "Change," which was very cool.

July 24, 2003:

• Tonight is the first show for John as the bass player in Ringo Starr's All-Starr band.  rollingstone.com reports that John will get to sing his #1 hits "Missing You" and "When I See You Smile" during the set.  The article also mentions that John will be re-releasing his Figure in a Landscape CD with remixed and acoustic tracks, but no date is given.
  

• Watch a clip of John practicing with Ringo's band at Ringo's site.
  

• Ringo and his All-Starr band will be playing a free concert in NYC on Friday morning, August 1st for ABC television's Good Morning America program.  If you can't be in NYC, get your VCR rolling. I expect that John will get a mention and a little camera time during the show.

• John's music has made it to one of the latest  Playstation 2 video games, Grand Theft Auto - Vice City. While you drive vehicles you can choose different 'radio' stations to listen to. On the EMOTION radio station you can hear Missing You. The music in this game is all from the 80s. October 31, 2002:

• From launch.com: (10/26/02, 7 a.m. ET) - Ringo Starr has sent out invitations to the musicians he'd like to take part in the 2003 edition of his All-Starr Band. The greatest-hits collective--which has in the past featured the likes of Cream's Jack Bruce, Bad Company's Simon Kirke, Procol Harum's Gary Brooker, and Peter Frampton, among many others--will next summer feature Babys/Bad English frontman John Waite.

  Fans will see Waite in an unusual position, however. "I'm gonna go and play bass guitar with Ringo in the summer for a couple of months," he told LAUNCH. "I used to be the bass player in the Babys, before I became the lead singer, so I'm looking forward to hanging with Ringo and playing those songs and being the fifth Beatle, you know? They made the call, and it looks like it's a complete go."

  Waite didn't know who else has accepted the offer. He told LAUNCH he expects his own Number One hit "Missing You" to be included in the tour's setlist. --Bruce Simon, New York

October 23, 2002:

• Again this year, John will be performing at a live show which benefits the Shade Tree Women's Shelter in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The show will feature John, the Gin Blossoms, and Lisa Loeb.  The concert will be in Las Vegas on December 13, 2002, at the House of Blues inside the Mandalay Bay Hotel.
  
  The concert is sponsored by the Sallie Mae organization.  The show is expected to be a sell-out and the plan is for John to do a full performance. All tickets can be purchased beginning Friday, October 18th by contacting the House of Blues ticket office at 1-702-632-7600. October 12, 2002:

September 14, 2002:

• styxworld.com reports that John will be joining Styx, Bad Company, Foreigner, REO Speedwagon and a host of others for two "Rock to the Rescue" benefit concerts in honor of September 11.  The gigs will be at Continental Airlines Arena (The Meadowlands) on Saturday, October 19th and at the Gund Arena in Cleveland on Sunday, October 20th.  Tickets go on sale today via Ticketmaster.

  Andrew McNeice reports the following in an October 27 entry on his melodicrock.com website:
  
  JOHN WAITE SORRY FOR UK GIG PULL-OUT:
  I spoke with the great John Waite this morning via phone and will have a full interview online from him next month. But I did ask him about his just cancelled UK gig. 
  
  John wanted me to let all his UK fans know that his is not at all happy with the cancellation of this gig and was a matter of the label not wanting to financially back a single UK gig. John said he was up for it and the cancellation does not sit well with him. It was in no way related to current world events and added that such events will never be allowed to control his life. 
  
  Better news is that he hopes the label will help him set up a mini tour for Europe in late January, taking in several dates, including a UK date. John was otherwise in good spirits and hinted that the next studio album from him would head back in a rockier direction, as he has had such a blast playing live and rocking out with his band this year. Damon Johnson looks set to join John on the next studio record.
  
  In other breaking news - John told me that he and Neal Schon have met to collaborate on a song that John will sing for Neal's new Sony Best Of compilation.

• John's scheduled gig for November 13 at "The Garage" in London, England has been cancelled. :-(

October 14, 2001:

• Jim Johnson reports: 

  I was flying to New York City yesterday on United Airlines and was looking through the in flight magazine at the audio channels and, lo and behold, who is listed but Mr. Waite. On the salute to songwriters channel, someone named Dan Kimpel interviews John and then they play 8 songs, they are as follows:

09/27/01 -
Styx, REO Speedwagon, Bad Company, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kansas, Eddie Money, Survivor, John Waite, Edgar Winter, Grand Funk Railroad's Mark Farner and many more to be announced will perform at two "Volunteers For America" benefit concerts. The concerts are scheduled for Saturday, Oct 20th at the HiFiBuys Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta, GA and Sunday, October 21st at the Smirnoff Music Center in Dallas, TX.

The shows will also feature an "All Star" band comprised of Liberty Devitto from Billy's Joel's band on drums, Derek St. Holmes from Ted Nugent's band on guitar, .38 Special's Jeff Carlisi, and The Producers' Kyle Henderson on bass among others.

Proceeds will benefit The American Red Cross, New York Firefighters & Police and victim's families of the Sept 11 tragedy.

Tickets for the "Volunteers for America" benefits will go on sale Saturday, September 29th and are available through Ticketmaster outlets, Ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster charge by phone numbers.

VCR ALERT!

• OK, short notice is better than no notice at all. <g>  Word is that John will be on WGN TV *this morning.*  Supposedly, his promo will be on at 7:40 a.m.  Central Time and his segment will be on at 7:45 a.m., but I'd suggest taping the whole show just to be on the safe side.

• Online fan Michele Ost writes that John will be on the CBS morning show on Tues 8/28.  That show starts at 7 a.m.

•  At John's June 26, 2001 gig in Raleigh, NC, Neal Schon joined John onstage for "Head First."  This is the first time this tour that any of the Bad English guys have joined John on stage.  Here's hoping for more of this in the future!
